On Sunday 07 November 2021, His Excellency Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, took part in Accra, Ghana, in the Extraordinary Summit of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of States of West Africa (ECOWAS).
This extraordinary session devoted to the examination of the political situation in Mali and Guinea, was the opportunity to take stock of the two missions of the sub-regional organization carried out in these two (02) countries on September 17 and October 17, 2021 respectively in Conakry (Guinea) and Bamako (Mali).
The Conference endorsed the main conclusions contained in the memoranda on the political situation in the two countries. These include, among other things, the maintenance of the suspension of Mali and Guinea from all ECOWAS bodies, the travel ban and the freezing of the financial assets of CNRD members in Guinea and their families until the restoration of constitutional order and the strengthening of the operational capacity of MINUSMA to face the challenges of terrorism in Mali.
