Consular approach
On Wednesday February 16, 2022, the Embassy took part at Manhya Palace (Kumasi) in the ceremony of the fifth anniversary of the enthronement of the Queen Mother (Asantehemaa).
This colorful event brought out the best of Ashanti culture and tradition through the grand durbar, which was attended by a large audience, including the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the King (Asantehene), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Other dignitaries included the First Lady, Ms. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the Second Lady, Ms. Samira Bawumia, and former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
The commemoration, which had as its theme: "The role of the contemporary Queen Mother", also brought together representatives of political parties, members of the diplomatic corps and business leaders.
