THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A CONSULAR CARD

Delivery time: 15 days

All applicants must go to the Embassy with the following documents:

- A photocopy of the national identity card or identity certificate or biometric passport;
- A form to be collected from the Embassy;
- 2 identity photos;
- The stamp fee to be paid to the Embassy at 25 ghc.

Mandatory additional documents

1- For the students:
- A registration receipt

2- For workers
- A work certificate

3- For non-workers
- A lease contract

4- For people legally married with a spouse residing in Ghana

- A photocopy of the spouse's identity document;
- 2 identity photos of the spouse.


2. APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR A BIRTH CERTIFICATE 

Delivery time: 72 working hours.
Birth certificates are only issued for Ivorian children born on Ghanaian, Togolese and Beninese territory.

Documents required :

- The original of the birth certificate or extract issued by Ghana, Togo or Benin;
- Photocopies of parents' identity documents;
- 10 Ghc per copies requested for the stamp costs.

3. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR  A CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE 

The marriage certificate extract is issued in the event of a marriage ceremony at the Embassy or in the event of a transcription in the Embassy's register of a marriage celebrated by the Ghanaian, Togolese or Beninese authorities.

Delivery time:

- In the event of a marriage ceremony: the wedding day
- In the case of a marriage transcription: 72 working hours after the date of registration

The documents to be provided in both (2) cases:

- Photocopy of the identity documents of the bride and groom;
- Photocopy of the identity documents of the 2 witnesses;
- The original extract of the birth certificate "for the purpose of marriage" of each of the bride and groom;
- A certificate of celibacy from each of the bride and groom;
- 25,000 FCFA.

Mandatory additional conditions or documents

- Wedding celebration
Filing of files two weeks before the planned date of the wedding.
- Marriage transcription
A deed of notarial fixing the matrimonial regime.


4. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A LIFE AND MAINTENANCE CERTIFICATE

Delivery time: 24 hours.

The applicant must go in person to the Embassy with:
- A photocopy of the identity document;
- The CNPS or CGRAE registration card bearing the registration number;
- 10 Ghc for stamp costs.


5. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR LEGALIZATION

Delivery time: 24 hours.
Only documents produced by the concerned themselves (example: a power of attorney) are legalized at the Embassy.
The Embassy does not legalize documents produced by another institution.

However, the Embassy can ˮ certify as true to the original ’photocopies of documents produced by another institution. The applicant must go personally to the Embassy with:

- A photocopy of his identity document;
- The original and photocopy of the document to be legalized or certified as true;
- 60 Ghc.

6. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A DEATH CERTIFICATE

Delivery time: 72 working hours.

Documents required :

- A death certificate issued by the Ghanaian authorities;
- A photocopy of the identity document of the deceased;

 

7. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A PASS

The laissez-passer is only issued to Ivorian nationals who for one reason or another no longer have travel documents to allow them to return to the country.

Delivery time: 24 hours.

Documents required :

- A photocopy of the applicant's identity document / passport;
- A certificate of loss or a receipt attesting to the retention of the passport by an institution;
- A form to be completed at the Embassy;
- 2 identity photos;
- 30 Ghc.
