WORKING VISIT TO GHANA OF MR. ALAIN-RICHARD DONWAHI, MINISTER FOR WATER AND FORESTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF COTE D’IVOIRE

An Ivorian delegation led by Mr. Alain-Richard DONWAHI, Minister of Water and Forests of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, visited Accra, Ghana, from 29 to 30 October 2017, as part of a working visit with his Ghanaian counterpart, Mr. John Peter AMEWU, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources of the Republic of Ghana.

The purpose of his visit was to meet with their Ghanaian colleagues in the field of forest to analyze the two policies, harmonize them and make sure that both countries have the same interests regarding the forest.

On the instructions of their respective Presidents, Their Excellencies Alassane OUATTARA and Nanan Addo Dankwa AKUFO-ADDO, they also discussed the problem of Cocoa and Deforestation with the aim of harmonizing their views and strategy policies in order to speak with the same voice, at the COP 23, to be held from 6 to 17 November 2017 in Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany.

This visit, although brief, allowed them to agree on a number of issues with a view to fighting deforestation in their two countries.

The delegation was composed as follows:
